In the 2400s, mankind embarks on one of its most ambitious endeavours—terraforming Mars. In “Terraforming Mars,” you take the role of a powerful corporation backed by the World Government on Earth. Your mission is to initiate massive projects to alter the harsh Martian environment into a habitable world while competing for precious victory points.

Game Mechanics and Highlights:

• Vast Project Cards: Choose from over two hundred unique project cards to build your engine, ranging from immediate bonuses to long-term production boosts.
• Strategic Resource Management: Manage six types of resources—MegaCredits, Steel, Titanium, Plants, Energy, and Heat—to fund your projects and advance your infrastructure.
• Dynamic Gameplay: Engage in various activities each turn, from playing cards and claiming milestones to adjusting the global parameters crucial for Mars’ terraformation.
• Competitive Objectives: Battle for optimal placements for your city, ocean, and greenery tiles on the Martian surface, and strive to achieve different milestones and awards that reward numerous victory points.

Game Phases:

1. Player Order: Shifts clockwise each generation.
2. Research Phase: Buy cards from four privately drawn options.
3. Action Phase: Execute strategic actions to advance your goals on Mars.
4. Production Phase: Receive resources based on your terraform rating and production levels.

The game concludes once Mars has reached the set levels of temperature, oxygen, and ocean coverage. Players then tally their Terraform Rating along with other victory points to crown the most successful corporation in this grand terraforming venture.
